Foam Board: Also known as mounting board, or foam core is a backing
material and mounting material widely used in framing art. Foam board
is virtually weightless and rigid enough to be ideal for framing works
of art. It adds little weight to the overall piece.
Acid Free Foam board cuts easily with a sharp mat knife or utility
knife.
Mounting Board: The backing material which is used back or provide support to the artwork. Typically, the artwork is mounted to the mounting board, or hinged from the window mat opening. Acid-Free Board is used in archival mounting and will not yellow original art work, prints and posters over time.
